Lily of the Valley

Throughout the Renaissance period, Lily of the Valley flowers were commonly given as gifts, a tradition that is thought to have started after King Charles IX of France received one as a token of good luck. The flower also plays a role in Christianity, where it is believed that the flower was taken to the gates of heaven to measure the purity of the heart and soul. Today, this flower represents luck, happiness, and purity.
